In 1986, during the transformative early years of China’s economic opening-up policy, JORNEN’s founder, Mr. Yang Yijun, embarked on a highly ambitious technical endeavor in Rui’an, Zhejiang Province: the independent development of a Thermoforming Blister Packaging Machine.
Driven by relentless perseverance and a sheer passion for engineering, his team worked around the clock for four years to overcome significant shortages in capital, advanced technology, and manufacturing facilities. In 1990, their dedication culminated in a breakthrough—the launch of China’s first domestically engineered platen-sealing Thermoforming Blister Machine, marking the official establishment of JORNEN (then known as Jiangnan Pharmaceutical Machinery).
The ultimate validation of this early machine’s quality came in 1991 during a major industry exhibition. Engineering experts from Shanghai Sine Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.—a state-owned giant—were so thoroughly impressed by the precision and stability of our homemade equipment that they purchased it on the spot. In an era where large state-owned enterprises almost exclusively relied on imported machinery, this acquisition by a Shanghai industry leader was a watershed moment. It proved that a small, private factory in Wenzhou could deliver world-class engineering.
The Strategic Leap to Advanced Manufacturing
That early triumph was just the beginning. By the late 1990s, JORNEN had evolved into a dominant force in the pharmaceutical machinery sector, earning the prestigious title of “High-Tech Enterprise in Zhejiang Province,” while Mr. Yang Yijun was honored as an “Excellent Entrepreneur.”
Recognizing that competing on the global stage required world-class infrastructure, JORNEN made a strategic decision to build a state-of-the-art production base in Shanghai, officially relocating all operations in 2003. This new facility fundamentally upgraded our manufacturing capabilities. We equipped our workshops with high-precision fabrication technology—including mirror wire cutting machines, vertical and horizontal machining centers, and digital CNC gantries—all seamlessly integrated with three-dimensional CAD software and a sophisticated ERP management system.
A Decade of Relentless Innovation (2004–2012)
This massive enhancement in both hardware and software set the stage for an explosive era of technological milestones:
2004: JORNEN’s annual sales revenue shattered the 100 million RMB benchmark.
2005: We launched the DPH190, our first fully servo-driven Thermoforming Blister Packaging Machine, pushing operational stability to new heights.
2007: The DPP260Ki blister machine made its debut at the Interpack exhibition in Düsseldorf, Germany, successfully capturing the attention and respect of premier Western pharmaceutical machinery manufacturers.
2009: Our integrated Blister Production Line achieved a high-speed capacity of 180 cartons per minute. Concurrently, JORNEN was officially recognized as a “High-Tech Enterprise in Shanghai.”
2011: We shattered domestic speed records. Our Thermoforming Blister Packing Machine achieved a staggering 200 punches per minute (yielding a capacity of 800 blisters per minute), making it the fastest blister machine engineered in China to date.
2012: We successfully brought our high-speed continuous cartoner to market, operating at 300 cartons per minute.
