Project Showcase: Robotic Cartoning System for Sachets (Delta Robot Integration)

Project Overview: JORNEN has successfully engineered and commissioned a highly customized Intermittent Cartoning Machine for Kelin Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (China). This advanced secondary packaging solution was specifically designed to handle flexible powder sachets, integrating cutting-edge robotics to overcome the traditional mechanical challenges of sachet collation and loading.

1. High-Speed Robotic Pick-and-Place (Delta Robot)

Standard mechanical pushers and gravity feeders often struggle with the flexible, unpredictable geometry of filled sachets, leading to line jams or misfeeds. To resolve this, JORNEN integrated a high-precision Delta Robot (spider robot) at the machine’s infeed station.

Operating with exceptional speed and agility, the robotic arm tracks incoming sachets on the upstream conveyor. It utilizes targeted vacuum suction to rapidly pick up individual sachets and place them with pinpoint accuracy directly into the synchronized bucket conveyor of the cartoning machine.

2. Intermittent Cartoning Mechanics

Once the robot completes the precise collation of sachets in the product buckets, the intermittent-motion cartoning module takes over. The machine automatically erects the flat folding cartons, synchronously pushes the stacked sachets into the open cartons, and executes a secure flap closure.

3. Format Flexibility & Operational Advantages

The integration of Delta robotics offers unparalleled format agility. Instead of undergoing time-consuming mechanical tooling changeovers for different sachet sizes or carton counts, operators can simply select a new recipe from the HMI. The robot instantly adjusts its pick-and-place trajectories and collation quantities, drastically reducing downtime between batch changeovers while eliminating manual feeding labor.
