Synchronized Alternating Feeding Architecture

1. The Vibration-Speed Bottleneck in Servo Architectures

Modern blister packaging platforms utilize decentralized servo architectures to achieve high continuous web velocities. However, matching a single-track vibratory feeder to a high-capacity machine forces the feeding module to operate at extreme frequencies. This aggressive mechanical agitation induces severe product attrition, including tablet chipping and capsule fracture, while compromising overall fill rates. As servo-driven web velocity increases, the extraction rate of products from the chute rapidly exceeds gravitational replenishment, forcing operators to throttle the machine to match the feeder’s physical limit.

2. Dual-Track Mechanical Architecture

To resolve this engineering bottleneck without expanding the equipment footprint, the system utilizes a dual-track sequential relay feeding mechanism. The mass flow is bifurcated equally across two independent vibratory modules. By splitting the payload, the architecture maintains a continuous supply inventory in parallel vertical chutes while cutting the required vibration frequency per track in half, thereby mitigating physical stress on delicate formats.

3. Sequential Cavity Population

The base of each vertical chute is equipped with an independent mechanical gate governed by the central PLC to execute an interlaced actuation sequence. The primary grooved track populates exactly 50% of the advancing blister cavities, intentionally bypassing intermediate sections of the web. As the continuous forming web advances, the secondary track synchronizes its release in exact phase opposition to target and fill the remaining 50% of the empty cavities.

4. Product Integrity and Maximum OEE

This staggered relay actuation effectively doubles the volumetric deposition rate without escalating mechanical vibration. The architecture supports the structural integrity and high-speed handling of diverse formats, including standard tablets and delicate capsules. By aligning material delivery kinetics directly with high-speed servo web velocities, the system eliminates micro-stops and material bridging, ensuring precise fill accuracy and maximizing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
