Blister inspection system for before-sealing and after-sealing

Quality assurance of packaged products is of critical importance in the pharmaceutical industry since incorrectly packaged or damaged products may result in expensive manufacturer recalls or potentially fatal accidents. Because of this, tablets packaged in blister packaging need to be inspected carefully for defects, now it is quite common to equip a camera inspection system before sealing station to inspect defects such as the wrong color, size, whether the tablets are broken or chipped and whether there are any empty pockets in the blister packaging itself (called before sealing defects)
But after sealing the sealed webbing may also have some defects, such as sealing wrinkle; unclear sealing grid linear (rotary sealing Blister Machine) or unclear sealing dot (platen sealing Blister Machine); crushed or damaged tablet in pocket that is caused by incorrect sealing position; human hair or similar thing is sealed between lidding and forming material; unclear embossed letters and/or numbers; no embossing, incorrect embossing position, etc.
This Blister Packaging Line is equipped two inspection systems, before sealing and after sealing, the former inspect for before sealing defects, the latter inspect for after sealing defects.
This Blister Packaging Line is combined with rotary-sealing blister unit, continuous-motion cartoning unit and overwrapping unit.
The characters of the rotary sealing:
. Continuous indexing allows easer blister feeding for simple shaped products, such as flatten table and capsule.
. Dwell time for sealing is shorter, thus the hot air getting into the blister pockets is reduced.
. Smaller space required due to a combination of indexing in one station.
. Reduced wrinkles due to linear contact sealing.
. Very short process time of sealing, so the Blister Machine can run at a higher speed.
. Achieved higher sealing pressure with smaller forces due to smaller sealing area (only a linear).
The connection unit between the blistering and cartoning:
. The blister unit adopts crossing type cutting, so the rotary robot can pick the blister cards and places them in conveyor in two lanes.
. The blister cards are transferred through these two lanes to two feeding magazines that connects with the cartoning unit.
. The two lanes feeding structure that adopt precise servo technology, assure the stability of high running speed of the continuous-motion cartoning unit.
